About the event
Join Carl Jr. Kodakin-Yakeleya on a guided walk around Frame Lake and discover what the bush around Yellowknife has to offer the respectful harvester and hunter.
This walk is an introduction to moving through the land with knowledge, respect, and intention. You'll learn how to identify the plants, medicines, and natural remedies growing right around you — from treatments for cuts, bruises, and bug bites to plants used for generations by the people of this land.
Every participant receives a customized medicine walk guide. The walk opens with an offering for the Land. Complimentary Labrador tea is included.
This is not a nature walk. It is a cultural experience. Come ready to listen, observe, and receive knowledge that has been passed down for thousands of years on this land.
