About the event
Join Carl Jr. Kodakin-Yakeleya for the second medicine walk of the festival — this time focused on the remarkable world of medicinal teas from the Denendeh.
The NWT is home to an extraordinary range of plants used for generations to make healing, nourishing, and ceremonial teas. On this walk, you'll learn to identify them, understand their traditional uses and preparation, and hear the stories that surround them.
From the calming to the invigorating, from the everyday to the sacred — the teas of the Denendeh are a living pharmacopeia passed down through oral tradition and direct practice. This walk is a chance to receive a small piece of that knowledge.
A different experience from Saturday's Hunter's Walk, this session has its own focus and its own stories. You do not need to have attended Saturday's walk to join Sunday's. Comfortable outdoor footwear recommended
